The Good Ship Restoration - A Pirate Ship

By Jeff Redington

Let us look at a ship, at port, who is gathering a crew. This might be the scenario.

For all practical reasons, the Good Ship Restoration, appears to be in good shape at first evaluation. She is big and strong, tall mast, good rigging, ropes and knots in good order, the sail we inspected appears in good shape. The Captain of this ship is confident and clean cut, seems to treat his crew with dignity. The crew have all been told that they are joining a merchant ship, bringing goods from the America's over to England, France, and Spain.

The ship is well fortified with canons and weapons of all types. We did asked, "Why all the weapons on a merchant ship?" Their answer was something along the line of, "...to protect us from pirates."

The ships stores were good for many months, without coming to port, which also seemed out of order, when they only planned a 3 to 6 week trip, but, "Oh well, guess the captain knows what he is doing."

So we have a Captain and his First Mate who gather a crew, with deceptive means, not telling the whole truth, about what they really are about. And off they go.

So on the journey, a few days out, one of the crew brings up something he heard back at port. He meets only with the Captain and his First Mate. He explains that he had ran into a former crew member on the street named, "Xmember", and that the stories of the last few voyages on the ship were quite disturbing.

Can all the tales of death, lying, buried hidden things, total destruction of other ships, taking of mens wives for the ships own pleasure, and the killing of the spouses who would not join the ships crew, stealing of other ships, who had been paid for by other merchants, could this all be true???

All this sounded, so unbelievable, that the crew member had joined anyway, thinking he knew better than that guy, who looked like a beggar, compared to the captain anyway. Xmember was dressed in rags and looked like he had been robbed of nearly everything he had.

The Captain and the First Mate told the new crew member, that Xmember had committed mutiny, and that none of the new crew needed to pay attention to such a one, or his wild stories.

So the crew member went back to work, and joyously doing his chores, not knowing what awaited him just a few days ahead. They stopped in at a port, and some asked him, "Is not that the Pirate ship Restoration?" , and he exclaimed, "You guys are crazy, I have never seen anything like that out of this crew, these are good men."

You see the captain would drop off the naive crew members, and leave them at port, and tell them he was giving them a few days off, giving them all kinds of extra cash, and all the freedom they wanted, and tell them to look for some sort of rare plants, which his customers wanted. All the while they went on their Pirate ways for the next few days. Raised a different flag, and did all the things previously mentioned and more.

So some of the crew knew, and some didn't, all a created deception, so they could continue their murderous ways.

Just because some of the crew do not know that the ship is a pirate ship, does not mean it is not. It is never a Pirate ship when at port, nor when certain crew are aboard. Only when they choose to be. These people are very sly. They are always on their best behavior, when visitors are aboard. They never mention certain things then.

Xmember is one of many hundreds who have escaped the Pirate Ship Restoration. Some got off at the first port of call, others sailed with her for many years, protected from all the criminal actions, but when they found out they got off. Others were just plan thrown overboard at sea, and some even drowned, who could not make it to shore, others who did make it to shore were in such bad shape, they have scarcely been able to hold a job. Others seemed totally "mad" or "crazy". A few have even had total nervous break downs. Some have killed themselves, and who knows what they saw on the Restoration.

It is reported that all types of immorality has happened on the ship, that the Captain is hiding what some of his crew did to some girls, at one of the ports, and on a couple of the ships, yet if the Captain and his close crew were to be asked about it, they would deny the allegations. They continue to hide what they really are all about.

So here is an analogy of a Pirate ship, posed as being good, at port, and even many of the crew are deceived. But the Captain and his immediate crew do the dirty work, under cover of night, and when the others are not looking.

Amazing enough, in order for you as a crew member to understand what is happening, you would nearly have to be off the ship, and at a distance, to see it. When you are working on the ship, they keep you so busy, that you barely have time to take care of yourself, let alone do any evaluating of the situation. When you do have time off, you are so tired you cannot even think.

So the deception can go on for years.

To the crew, it may appear that everything is OK. When it is not.

In the USA we have a Coast Guard and they inspect ships for sea worthiness. It is important that the Captain and the Crew are not the inspectors, because they would rather ignore some things, so they can get out there, and make some money. But what about the safety of the crew? So the ships that do not meet the standard are either upgraded, or they will be sunk or salvaged.

Car manufacturers like the independent evaluations of their vehicles. When an independent evaluation is done, this gives them a verification of their product.

So if a ship builder or a car company tells you about their product, it is not complete without some sort of independent testing. Someone who is not a part of the company.

So with an organization, it to can be independently evaluated for what it is, a bank, mortgage broker, insurance agency, and any type of group. The people who work for the company can tell you what they think about the company, and tell you whether they like it or not. But may not know what is going on behind closed doors. The owner of the company may be hiding things that need uncovering, that most employees would never know. Many employees may be fired and others are scared to ask questions, lest they get fired.

So I said all this, to explain what would be the truth, some in the Restoration movement have no clue as to how they operate, and are sheltered by the leaders, for one purpose or another, but are being used, not loved.

The Church of God Restoration cannot of themselves prove anything, no more than a car manufacturer can prove they are anything, without comparing themselves with other cars. The customers are the best evaluation, not the President of the company, or even the companies management. Let us hear what former customers are saying.

It is hard on exmembers pride, but when you compare this Church of God Restoration with other groups, the closest thing you come up with, is a "Cult". They do not appear to be just another denomination. They are far beyond just being an aberrant Church.

People in this movement die as a result of their teachings, does that not scare you?

So to the crew of the Good Ship Restoration, they appear to be a great ship, that is their self analysis. But talk to "Xmember" and other "X-Crew", and you will see they are far more than a Good Ship, to the rest of the world, they are Pirates.

This Church of God Restoration is to the rest of the world nothing more than a "Cult", while the very members, think they are the only ones on the earth, who are saved, of course, the "Captain" told them this.
